Nexium Control (30 Tablets) is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) which works by decreasing the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It is used to treat conditions like acid reflux, heartburn, acid indigestion, ulcers and
heartburn. Nexium Control (30 Tablets) may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist before you take Nexium Control (30 Tablets) and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually once daily with food.
Follow the doctor's prescribed dosage and frequency as instructed by your doctor. Continue taking this medication for the full duration of your treatment, even if you feel well. If you stop taking this medication and you become hypersensitive to it, your body may no longer be producing the same amount of acid as it did when it was taking Nexium Control (30 Tablets). Prolonged or frequent use of this medication may cause bleeding or ulcers in the stomach or intestines. This is more likely if Nexium Control (30 Tablets) is taken with food.
If you are taking esomeprazole, you may take it as directed by your doctor. Do not take Nexium Control (30 Tablets) more than once a day. Swallow the pill as a whole, without lying down.
If you are taking proton pump inhibitors (omeprazole, lansoprazole), take it in the morning. You may take it at the same time daily.
It is best to use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration. This means that you may not get the results you would desire.
